How To Automatically Search And Download Subtitles in VLC Media Player

Sometimes we might want to add subtitles to a video or a movie, now searching for the subtitles by going to your browser and searching online can be exhausting, what if I tell you there is a feature built right into VLC media player to automatically search and add subtitles to your video without having to leave your favourite video in the middle (Yes, it would be amazing). So let's get to it.

How to add subtitles to VLC Media Player

  • First open VLC and play some movie or TV show or whatever.
  • Then Right click on the screen and select "View>>Download Subtitles".
  • Then a window like this will open.
  • You will see two options "Search by Hash" or "Search by Name". click on any one of them.
  • After a while it will automatically search and show you the search results.
  • Select any of the search results, and click on "Download Selection".
And just like that you will have subtitles up and running in no time.
