How to make the most out of Gmail

I believe that most of you have heard about Gmail (If you haven't then I have to ask, Do live under the rock? uhh). So today I am going to share some Gmail tips that will help you with using Gmail to its full potential. So without wasting time let's move to the tip no one.

1. Stop Emails From Flodding your inbox

Gmail provides a feature to filter future messages from popping up in our inbox. To do that follow these steps:
  • Open email that you don't wanna see in future
  • On the top of that email you will see "More" button, click on that and select "Filter messages like these".

2. Enable and use Shortcuts

You can use shortcuts in Gmail but first we need to enable them, let us see how?
  • Click on the gear icon on the top right corner of your gmail and click on "Settings".
  • Now scroll down to the "Keyboard shortcuts" section.
  • Select Keyboard shortcuts on.
  • At the bottom of the page click on Save Changes.
Now you can use keyboard shortcuts in your gmail. Below I listed some of them.

c  -  Compose new mail
j  -  Go back to previous mail
k  - Go to next mail
e  -  Archive
r  -  Reply
l -    Label
gi -  Go to Inbox
ga - Go to All Mails
gd - Go to Drafts
gl -  Go to label

3. Stop message from being sent

Clicked on Send button soon? don't we got your back. You can stop a message from being sent but you need to enable this feature first.
  • Click on gear icon again and select settings.
  • Scroll down to Undo Send.
  • Select Enable Undo Send.
  • At the bottom of the page click on Save Changes.
  • Now every time you send a mail by mistake, you will have 10 seconds to cancel it.

4. Dot In The Email ID

If you happen to have a dot in your email address then it doesn't matter. Yup that's right, It don't. Let's say your email is name.surname@gmail.com and someone sends a email to na.mesurname@gmail.com or namesurname@gmail.com then that email will be delivered to the name.surname@gmail.com inbox itself. This will be useful if you want to sign up with different account on the same website.

5. Create unlimited Accounts

This trick is somewhat similar to the previous. Let's say you have a email xyz@gmail.com now if you add anything after '+' symbol (eg. xyz+something@gmail.com) email sent to that address will be delivered to xyz@gmail.com inbox itself.

That's it guys, Hope you find these Gmail tricks useful.
